Edwardian style blouse with dramatic pointed shoulders. Slightly high waisted, this top sits just above the hip, and on the arm it hits just above the wrist, elongating the extremities. The Eddie Blouse is made of handwoven silk and cotton, brocaded by master embroiderer (zarduz) Mirshod Farmanov in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

The art of arranging gold metal threads in parallel rows on a ground fabric, and then couching them with silk thread has a long history in Bukhara. Examples have been found dating back to the 7th century when the first gold mines were excavated. Once reserved for the clothes of the nobility, today the technique is used only for special occasions such as weddings. A brocaded wedding robe can take up to 3 years to make.
