Hip-length winter coat. Detachable hood with zipper and "kundimi" details, knotting modeled after the Koryo-saram way to pack and carry things. Meant for temperatures up to -25° celcius. Behind each kundimi tie is a piece of vintage embroidered fabric. A secret in the snow.
The Kundimi Jacket features elasticated cuffs and waist, with an adjustable toggle allowing you to cinch this jacket tightly into you to protect against the wind and cold.
In her J.Kim Fall/Winter 2022 collection designer Jenia Kim continues exploring everlasting themes of home, family values, and sharing a feeling of warmth and security. While doing research for this collection, Kim uncovered photos of her family assembling the dowry for her aunt. Her self as a baby observed wrapping blankets and sheets in the background of the photo. More than 20 years later, the same dowry bale would become a core element to her labels designs.
