The AW22 Julia Heuer collection “FERMENTED CEREMONY” draws inspiration from medieval themes of armor, adornment, and high nobility. Visually intoxicating prints are realized in refined, sculptural pleats of chiffon, double-woven georgette, crepe de chine, satin, and polyester jersey. A special collaboration with jewelry designer Arielle Depinto graces the frame with highly realistic tromp l'oeil chainmail draping and arming throughout the collection.

Through her eponymous brand, Swedish designer Julia Heuer creates pieces that are instantly recognizable by their handmade plissé and vibrant prints. Heuer’s careful process sees a combination of illustrated stories being directly applied to raw materials and the Japanese tie-dyeing pleating technique of Arashi Shibori. The garments’ delicate pleating and loose but elegant cut create a playful sense of movement and unique silhouette.
