'Everything is made by hand at our studio in Montreal. We take the utmost care in sourcing fabrics and use vintage, re-purposed, and overstock fabrics whenever possible. For this reason our garments are either one of a kind or very limited edition.'
For their second season of French terry spandex pieces, Kochetkov and number sixteen used a technique called flower dyeing or 'bundle dyeing'. The fabric is bundled with flowers collected from around Montreal (Tio Tia:Ke), steamed, and then dipped in an immersion dye bath to achieve the signature pink wash. The results are one of a kind, watercolour-like effect that cannot be duplicated. The fit of each garment has been updated to be as comfortable as possible for working out, doing yoga, or dancing alone. As always, these pieces are dyed, cut, and sewn in-house, serving you a 100% handmade experience.
The Kelly Shorts are a super soft biker short made from a stretchy and cozy French terry cotton-spandex blend. They're featured in a split pink and yellow colour way with unique fuchsia and green flower dye detailing. Features elasticated waistband.
