“What’s a fashion image?” a visual ponder, by Joe Silveira and Christina Pretti.

Silveira and Pretti’s personal magazine collections are extremely vast, rare, and deeply personal; spanning decades and genres. While each archive differs, they share the same through-line: a lean toward fashion and beauty in the ordinary, the unusual, and, sometimes, the ugly. These themes inform their personal works as well.

From the 17 October to 5 November at 100% Silk, Silveira and Pretti will be showcasing a specially selected group of images from each of their individual archives, with personal works woven throughout. Their rare magazine and archival image selection will be displayed on an evolving/rotating basis during the exhibition’s run.
