Classic corset with boned back and sides. Sits off the shoulder for a straight cut neckline. Grommeted and Ribbon tie in the front. Handwoven silk and cotton brocaded with gold bejewelled crosses. Lined with golden/green cotton

The Juliette Corset was brocaded by master embroiderer (zarduz) Mirshod Farmanov in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The art of arranging gold metal threads in parallel rows on a ground fabric, and then couching them with silk thread has a long history in Bukhara. Examples have been found dating back to the 7th century when the first gold mines were excavated. Once reserved for the clothes of the nobility, today the technique is used only for special occasions such as weddings. A brocaded wedding robe can take up to 3 years to make.
