TULAY KULBAY
Tülay Kulbay is a ceramic artist and designer based in Paris. Born in Sweden to Turkish parents, her work is shaped by a layered cultural background and a long-standing relationship with materials. Before focusing on ceramics, she worked extensively in fashion, textiles, and footwear design, which continues to influence her sensitivity to form, surface, and the body. Her ceramic practice is intuitive and sculptural, often taking the form of vessels and ambiguous objects that exist between function and symbolism. Drawing from mythology, nature, and inner emotional states, her work explores themes of transformation, desire, protection, and vulnerability. Rather than offering fixed narratives, her pieces invite personal interpretation and emotional resonance. She works primarily in stoneware, allowing the material and the making process to guide the final form.
